Australia opt to bat after winning toss. Visitors looked confident since the beginning of the innings and openers added 68 runs before going 1 wicket down in form of Head. After Head’s departure, Aussies skipper came to bat and lost his wicket to Hardik Pandya for a golden duck. This is the 5th time when Steven Smith got dismissed by Pandya in ODIs.

In total, Pandya got 3 wickets (Head, M Marsh, Smith) and so did Kuldeep Yadav in form of Warner, Labuschagne & Alex Carey.

Australia scored 269 before getting bowled out.

In response, Indian openers stitched 65 runs partnership before Rohit’s departure after playing pull shot over square leg and handing easy catch to Starc. Entire crowd welcomed Kohli with a loud noise and he didn’t disappoint them as he smashed his 65th & only half-century of the match, 54 off 72 balls.

Apart from Kohli, no batsman even crossed 40+ score. Also, the string of golden ducks continued for SK Yadav and once again, middle order failed to bounce back when team needed them the most forcing them to lose the ODI series against the visitors. Zampa scalped 4 wickets haulting India on 248/10.

Zampa & Marsh were awarded MOM & Man of the Series for their series winning performances respectively.
